CCN’s March 8th Run to Fight Cancer Hero is Anya!
Anya was diagnosed with sarcoma at the age of 15. It was a 2 month journey to figure it out. Her superheroes are her friends and listening to a band called Coldplay. Her superhero friends have helped her to keep her head up. The songs from Coldplay are what she enjoys listening to as she is in treatment. They have songs she can relate to and she has listened to them all of her life. Anya would tell a newly diagnosed cancer patient to take it one day at a time, it won’t be easy, and it’s OK to not want to go out but to just stay at home.
